You're Allowed to Not Have Kids

Other people's wombs are none of your business

Every now and then, I’m just minding my business, browsing the ol’ internet, enjoying my sweet ass life, when all of a sudden I’ll see a Tweet, hot take or think piece along the lines of “CHILD FREE PEOPLE ARE SELFISH ASSHOLES AND WILL BE SO LONELY AND FULL OF REGRET IN THEIR FORTIES!!!”

Like, wow. Calm down, hun. Anyone would think those kids are stressing you out.

It’s a take that’s so wrong from top to bottom, it’s hard to know where to start.

This notion that people who choose to not have kids just don’t know their own minds, haven’t thought through their decisions and taken the best course of action based on their lifestyle, is patronising beyond belief.
