Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with a lil shout out to Brooke Shields. I came across this video from Vogue last week of her doing her skincare routine and was quite delightfully taken aback at how at ease she is with her older skin. As someone who has been making a living from her looks since her childhood years, I imagine the ageing process could be wrought with self doubt but she’s doing it beautifully. It’s telling that I found it so refreshing to see a woman in the public eye with wrinkles, apparently not trying to disguise her age. Kudos, Ms Shields. You’re leading the way. More of this please!
Things that caught my eye this week
I want to be one of those people who reads 50 books a year, but the reality is, I’m a slow reader and if I don’t read a little every day, I fall out of the habit very easily and end up not reading for weeks. Gah! So this list of reading accessories is something I bookmarked (ha!) instantly. I want everything on the list (except the digital things - I shall never deviate from a good ol’ paperback).
Food for Thought
Circumstances will never be perfect. They don’t have to be. You can start right now, today. Stop putting it off. Stop making excuse after excuse and let yourself experience the totality of your brilliance, would ya?
Stop thinking it’ll go wrong. Stop thinking you need more time, more money, more resources, more anything. Just take a step, a baby step, a tip toe forward. Today. Right now. Come on. Go do it. You know you’re pissing yourself off with all this stalling.

On Monday’s paid edition of this here newsletter, I’m going to be talking about our responsibility, as women over 35, towards the generation of women coming up after us. In my working life, I’ve unfortunately dealt with many women the generation above me who seemed to make it their mission to make life difficult for the younger women they worked with. They dealt with hardship, misogyny and prejudice in the workplace for a long ass time. Unfortunately, many chips sit on many shoulders of that generation as a result. We do not need to carry that legacy forward. Let’s talk about how we can make things easier for these young ‘uns coming up.
Your Weekly Biggie Smalls (P)update
This week, Biggie wants to remind you to rest, take a time out, curl up and have a nap, carve out some moments for yourself to just let your body completely chill. The reset is important and you’ll feel so much better than trying to power through when your body really wants to power down.
Until next week, smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
