Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with Diana Ross, solely because she’s Diana Fucking Ross to be honest. Not many more reasons needed. But she popped up at Beyoncé’s concert on Bey’s birthday and sang for her. First of all, pretty sure I’d faint, so kudos to B for holding it together. Second of all, Diana Ross has never not looked like an other worldly, next level goddess; hair, skin, outfits always on point, still doing what she loves.
*chef’s kiss* Just beautiful all around.
Things that caught my eye this week
This piece in the New York Times about ‘How to Nurse an Oversharing Hangover’ is a really helpful read. I’ve had a few incidents of sharing things with people over the past year that I wish I hadn’t. Our connection wasn’t at that point and those people didn’t really deserve access to that level of information about me and I’ve felt weird and shameful about it since. This piece really helped to put some of that into perspective. Worth a read if you’ve felt the same.
Food for thought
Everything can change in an instant. A chance encounter, the decision to take a different route somewhere, waiting in line, buying groceries - you can be doing the most mundane things but the divine timing of life will intervene just at the right moment to spin your world on its axis. Maybe it’s the love of your life, maybe the perfect job opportunity or that friend you haven’t seen in years. People, things and situations are put in our path at the very moment they’re supposed to be.
Everything can change in an instant. Stay open to the magic.
You should upgrade to the paid edition of The Murmuration because…
On Monday’s edition of the letter, I’m going to be talking about starting over in a new city and trying to build friendships from the ground up. I’ll be telling you about my Summer of Yes, my new outlook and approach and how I’m prioritising friendship and connection in this phase of my life. If you’re in a similar space right now, it’ll definitely be worth a read.

Your weekly Biggie Smalls (p)Update
This week, Biggie wants to remind you to stop and smell the flowers, take a break, slow down a little. Look around you and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you in any given moment. We take so much of it for granted. But Biggie says to pay attention to the little things and he assures me that sniffing a blade of grass for 45 seconds isn’t weird, it’s just him showing his appreciation. OK, dude. If you say so.
Wanna get consistent with your workouts?
Oftentimes, we set goals and intentions around having and maintaining good workouts habits but…why is it so frikkin’ hard to uphold them?! We might have the best will in the world and yet, the smallest thing will make us cancel a workout. We end up in cycles of going to the gym or a class for a few weeks and eventually it tapers off and we can sometimes go weeks or months doing nothing - spending the majority of that time feeling guilty and ashamed for our lack of consistency.
The truth is, if you don’t lay the proper foundation, no amount of ‘it’ll be different this time’ will actually work when you try to start back up again.
As a former couch potato who is all too familiar with this cycle, I’m here to tell you, I have cracked the code and change is possible!
I’ve created an online course called Movement Mindset Makeover that will completely change the way you view your body and relationship to movement. It’ll take you through a step-by-step plan to ensure you have all the tools you need to set yourself up for success and finally create a habit that sticks.
The course includes email support/encouragement/motivation from me and a one-to-one coaching session with me too.
Ready to say goodbye to your excuses and meet the new, badass, consistent version of yourself?
Until next week, smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
