Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with the powerhouses that are Venus and Serena Williams. These babes, obviously royalty when it comes to their tennis achievements, have become equally revered for their business decisions off court since their retirement. Back in 2009, they bought a minority stake in the Miami Dolphins (American football team), making them the first black women to own an NFL team. The team was then valued at $1.2B. In its most recent valuation, the team is now worth $4.6B - in short, the Williams sisters are WEALTHY wealthy. We love to see it, ladies. Truly inspirational.

Things that caught my eye this week
If you haven’t listened to the podcast The Retrievals - get on it! Trigger warning that it is about IVF and there is talk of pregnancy loss and struggles conceiving, but this series blew my mind. Many women who were beginning their IVF cycles at the Yale Fertility Clinic found their surgical procedures to be extremely painful. All is not what it seems. I don’t wanna give any spoilers - just go listen, you won’t regret it.
Food for thought
All hardship is temporary. Whatever pain, struggle, seemingly endless fuckery you are going through right now, take a breath and remind yourself it won’t last forever. Everything has its cycle. And in the background, it’s giving you tools, it’s building your resilience, it’s teaching you essential skills for your level up (even if it feels really shitty right now).
So hold tight and ride the wave, babe. The good time is just around the corner.
You should subscribe to the paid version of The Murmuration because…
On Monday’s paid edition of the letter, I’m talking about checking in with your goals, feelings and desires at this point in the year - seeing if you’re on track to achieve what you set out to do in January. Is that goal even still relevant to you now? How do you ensure you continue to move through the rest of 2023 with passion and purpose? Ready for the check in? Your Weekly Biggie Smalls (p)Update
This week, Biggie would like to remind you, from the depths of the Montreal humidity, to stay cool however you can. His preferred method is to take a break roughly every 5.6 seconds on every walk to frolic in some grass. He assures me it is very effective. Happy grass rollin’ to ya.
Until next week; smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
