Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with Brittney Griner. I came across this pic of her this week, hitting the basketball court and my heart swelled at the joy. After all she’s been through, this moment must feel amazing for her. Don’t mind me, just over here wiping tears at the happiness the simple things can bring.
Thrilled for Brittney.
Things that caught my eye this week
This article about the backlash against Me Too is an important read and has put words to much of what I’ve been feeling of late about the current climate in regards to women’s rights and why it all feels so strange right now. The backlash is in full effect. And honestly, it’s depressing as fuck. But we need to be aware of it, so, be prepared to read that article through gritted teeth.
Food for thought
Let it go. That grudge you’ve been holding onto - what exactly is it doing for you? Endlessly replaying the argument you had or wish you could have with someone, is doing what for your spirit? What’s done is done and unless you are going to make a definitive move to cut this thing off altogether or build a bridge, LET. IT. GO. Channel that energy into the here and now, the people who are actively showing up, loving and caring for you. Why waste time and energy focused on something that makes you feel shitty? Forgive, release and let go. Be here, now, with love. Your nervous system will thank you.

On Monday’s paid version of this here newsletter, I’m talking about yearning for female friendship. It’s something I’ve been in conversation with many people about recently and I know a bunch of us are feeling it. Deep, meaningful, soul-type friendship connections. More than just the dress-up-and-go-out-for-dinner type friends. The friends who will come over and are comfortable doing nothing, look after you when you’re sick, will help you have a good clear out type of friends. I’m not sure if it’s that female friendships are naturally changing, if it’s an age thing, if social media has made us all more distant, but it seems many of us are craving deeper connection. On Monday, I’ll talk about it. Subscribe and join me.
Your Weekly Biggie Smalls (P)update
This week, Biggie wants to remind you to ask for what you want. People can’t read your mind. You’re not being pushy, you’re not being demanding - you’re trying to operate at your best. There is no shame in it. Use that voice, honey!

To know me is to know I’m an absolute freak about stationery. I am still very much a paper daily planner person - I can’t get on board with iCal or Google calendar. I MUST write things down with pen and paper. My absolute favourite planner for years now has been Passion Planner. I seem to especially be enjoying using it this year for some reason. It just keeps me focused on goals in such a specific way. I can’t imagine myself ever using another planner now.
If you’re in the market for an easy way to get into meditation, I love the Calm app. I tried a few other apps before settling on Calm. I love the 10 minute Daily one. The range of meditations, particularly nighttime ones is really great and everyone on there has a great voice. Listening to a sleep story by Matthew McConaughey? Don’t mind if I do.
