Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with Dasia Taylor, a student at the University of Iowa who invented a type of suture that changes colour if a wound is infected. Genius! We love a science-y babe, out here making a difference in the world. I believe this story is a couple of years old - I hope we hear much more about Ms Taylor in the future and how she’s trailblazing in the medical field.
Things that caught my eye this week
I enjoyed this piece in The Atlantic about the decline of etiquette and the rise of boundaries. We do seem to have entered an era where we don’t really have any specific etiquette guidelines anymore. The examples from the 1950s and earlier in the article are pretty chuckle-worthy - it’s a wonder anyone was allowed to talk about anything at all back then, the list of faux pas was so long. I do think the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction to wild oversharing and I’m not sure how or if we’ll ever find a middle ground. Nonetheless, the article is an interesting read.
Food for thought
Just because it’s not happening as quickly as you wanted, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. It’s unfolding in all the little moments; in the victories, the stretches where you want to give up, the times you’re questioning everything - it’s all getting you closer. None of it ever comes packaged the way we expect. Keep working. Everything you ever wanted is making its way to you.
Kick start 2025 clear, calm and COACHED!
My January coaching group is back, baby!
Listen, we all start the year full of hope, promise and big plans. But it can all dwindle pretty quickly if there's no actual planning or action put behind it.
My 30 day January coaching program; The Kick Ass Accountability Group, is the perfect way to start your year if you're looking to feel more focused, inspired and action-based over the next 12 months.
Last year's group was packed full of excellent women and the most loving, supportive, encouraging vibes. It's all done via WhatsApp and email (this year, I'm adding two group calls too, which will be recorded if you can't make them).
It's just $68 for 30 days of sisterhood, support, inspiration and cheerleading that will get you in the mindset to turn 2025 into one of your best years yet.

You should upgrade to the paid version of The Murmuration because…
On Monday’s edition of the letter, I’m pondering when I need to start worrying about ageism in the workplace. As someone who works in fitness, a notoriously young industry, I am starting to get concerned about my ability to land work as I age. I am trying to be the change I want to see, but unless you have advocates in higher places who also want to see that change and entrust you with it, there is a very real possibility you may be blocked out.
Upgrade and let me know your thoughts.

Until next week; smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
