Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with Skylar Liberty Rose.
I’ll be honest and say, I don’t know this woman - I’ve just followed her on Instagram the last few months and I want to encourage you all to do the same. She’s proudly middle-aged, perimenopausal, pro-ageing and just really uses her platform for good.
She also has the best hair.
She’s worth a follow if you like your content honest and uplifting.
Things that caught my eye this week
This piece about the importance of meaningful social interactions is a good, quick read. It also helped affirm some things for me. As someone who spends a lot of time alone, I do cherish these interactions with strangers when I’m out in the wild. And perhaps it’s because I do spend so much time alone that I’m acutely aware, when someone is interacting with me, that I may well be the only source of human interaction they’ve had that day.
This piece also made me realise that while a great deal of my communication is online, due to the fact that the vast majority of my friends live in different countries, the sheer amount of online communication I do can be quite exhausting.
All in all, this is making me think of how I can make my interactions more intentional and to never discount just how important those social interactions are, even on the days I want to hide from the world.
Food for thought
After every blow life has dealt you, every war you’ve waged, every silent battle you thought would break you, here you came, emerging from the ashes of failed attempts and frustrated tears. Here you came, to try again. Every time you think ‘I can’t do it anymore’, some part of you takes it as a challenge and says ‘watch me!’ My God, you are made of strong stuff. Today is another day to try again, and here you come.

Well…Monday will likely be my most personal post to date. It’s very vulnerable but a necessary discussion, I feel. Ultimately, what happens when you have to admit you’re not OK and really surrender to finding out why. I’ve been on a wild ride with that this past week and think may experience may be of use to anyone else who’s going through it.

This week, Biggie would just like to say ‘February, amirite?!’ What a slog of a month. The darkness, the coldness, the snow, the overwhelming sleepiness. But he’s here to reassure us, we’ve almost made it through pals! Hold on, one more week!
Until next week; smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
