Happy Thursday, ya beauties.
Kicking it off this week with this woman, who’s out here playing chess with the Texas legal system apparently. While none of this abortion ban issue is anything even close to resembling funny, nor should it be trivialised, I appreciate this lady using this opportunity to highlight the flaming hypocrisy of this whole thing.
Things that caught my eye this week
Since the start of the pandemic, I’ve had so many conversations about how we won’t truly know the effects all of this has had on our mental health til much further down the line. This article about why people are acting so weird is super interesting. There’s quite clearly a link between these trying times and people just losing their shit; crime is going up, people are being more asshole-y. I also think it’s no coincidence that for much of this, there was a giant baby in the White House whose wild behaviour we saw spill out into many other areas of society.
One thing’s for sure, when this particular period gets written about in history books, it’ll make for some interesting reading.
Food For Thought
That thing you keep putting off - when are you gonna do it? ‘Cause it’s not going away, no matter how many times you try to kick the ball further down the road. Stop talking yourself out of it. Stop thinking there’s a way around it. Rip the Band-Aid off! Just do it. You will feel so much better for it. Set a deadline, get someone to hold you accountable and just….frikkin’…..do…..it. Avoidance is not part of the bad bitch lifestyle.

In Monday’s letter, I’m writing to my younger self, all about what I learned in my 20s, what I wish I’d done better and the bits I got right that helped me become who I am today.
As we age, so many people like to look back and crave those younger times, but I’ve gotta say, when I reflect, I’m mainly grateful for the growth, the lessons, the trying times. I can’t say I miss them. Weirdly, thinking of my youth makes me thankful that I’m ageing.
Your Weekly Biggie Smalls (P)update
This week, Biggie would like to encourage you to get out there and explore. Take a road trip, get out in nature, get lost, take a picnic, feel the breeze in your hair, enjoy a balmy summer night watching the sunset at some hidden gem of a place you never usually go. Just, ya know…live a little.
Until next week, smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
