Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with none other than Ms Britney Spears (again!). Last weekend, I read her autobiography and sweet baby Jesus, my admiration for her has skyrocketed. This is a truly un-put-down-able book and my jaw was on the floor several times throughout. What this woman has been through, what she endured while under her conservatorship, is far worse than I ever thought, far worse than reported and is actually mind-boggling that she survived.
I now want to fight her entire family. I wish Britney nothing but the best life has to offer. I wish her peace and the ability to truly enjoy being free. I hope she is able to find people to surround herself with who she loves and trusts and can relax with. After what she’s been through, she truly deserves the best of the best.
Things that caught my eye this week
I thought this piece about spaces banning influencers was really interesting. As someone who was early on the blogging train back in ‘07 and enjoyed a bit of a stint as what one could arguably call an ‘influencer’, the heights I see this trend having reached is kinda mind blowing.
This piece raises some really interesting points about certain places not always being set up for an influx of new visitors and actually craving sustainable customer bases, rather than people who just show up ‘for the ‘gram’.
On the flip side, some influencers really do have the ability to completely turn around the trajectory of a business for the better (I’m looking at you, Keith Lee of TikTok fame). It’ll be interesting to see if ‘influencer’ is still something the young ‘uns aspire to be in years to come.
Food for thought
You will weather it. This storm. And any that come after it.
For every moment you cry ‘why me?!’, remember the last time your world shook so hard you thought you wouldn’t make it. That rumble prepared you for this one. You have everything in you to navigate this, however tired you are, however much you don’t want to, however much you doubt yourself, the fact remains - you can.
So dry your tears, babycakes. Take a deep breath. Get back out there. You’re almost through it.
You should subscribe to the paid edition of The Murmuration because…
In Monday’s paid version of the letter, I’m talking about a cultural shift that seems to be taking place with alcohol. Younger people aren’t drinking it as much. Around this time of year, as those of us who don’t drink have to navigate holiday parties, deal with drunk people and field a bunch of questions about our choice not to drink, on Monday I’ll be writing about how this may all look so very different ten years from now.

Your Weekly Biggie Smalls (P)update
This week, Biggie hopes you get a little massage in that bit of your upper back/shoulder that releases just the right amount of tension and gets you feeling all relaxed. You deserve it.
This week, I appeared on a podcast
I was really honoured to be asked to be on the Girl We Grown Now podcast this week. We had a really great chat about the role of your mindset in achieving your goals.
Studio Bangs is almost ready!
Apologies for my lack of newsletters the past couple of weeks. I’ve been working my behind off building Studio Bangs, my online spin and Pilates studio. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll be well versed on the plethora of struggles and set backs this has come with (I’m not entirely unconvinced that I’m not actually in a Carry On film at this point, such is the level of comedic mess ups).
It’s been a learning MOUNTAIN, getting my head around a whole bunch of new technical stuff, but it has also taught me a whole new level of tenacity and stick-to-it-ness. If all goes well, hopefully next week, I’ll be launching and you can ride and Pilates with me, wherever you are, til your heart’s content.
Until next week; smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
