Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with Queen Bey, who wrapped up her Renaissance tour this week, having completed 56 shows, with nearly three million people in attendance and pulling in $579 million. Sweet Baby Jesus, that woman is a powerhouse. When I think of the logistics of putting together a tour like that, the prep, the travel, the sheer number of people involved - it makes my head spin.
Kudos, Ms Bey. We love to see a woman over 40 slaying this intensely. Long may your star shine bright.
Things that caught my eye this week
This piece in Vogue, where are writer catches up with four ex-friends to discuss why they stopped talking is a great read. It speaks to the changing nature of friendships over time and definitely brought to mind some old friends of mine that it might be healing to reach out to. Worth a read if you’re struggling with how some of your friendships have morphed in ways you find confusing or hurtful.
Food for thought
That unsettling feeling is an invitation. It might be calling you to level up, to let go, to apologise or atone.
But the shift doesn’t happen until you acknowledge it. Get your head out of the sand and stop acting like it’s business as usual. Commune with that feeling. Listen to what it wants from you.
Then go do that.
You should subscribe to the paid edition of The Murmuration because…
On Monday’s paid edition of the letter, I’m talking about going it alone. Not merely navigating life as a single person, but also starting a business that will literally be a one-woman-show for probably quite a while, and what that means/how it feels to have it all on your shoulders. How you can walk a tight rope between loneliness and pressure and empowerment and freedom on any given day and how it can frankly all just get a little confusing.
So, if you are a woman who is feeling alone right now (regardless of relationship status), subscribe to the paid edition and get a dose of understanding on Monday.
Your Weekly Biggie Smalls (p)Update
This week, Biggie wants to encourage you to have a lie in. You’ve earned it. You deserve. Grab your favourite book, watch some trash on your laptop, make a nest that’s so comfortable you leave your imprint on the bed, only get up to make more tea and get snacks. Every now and then you’ve just gotta do it to have a little reset. Go ahead, treat yourself.
Are you ready yet?
