Happy Thursday ya beauties!
Whew, yeah, I know, it’s been a minute. I have been having a frikkin’ time, amigas. A tablespoon of illness, a splash of depression, 3 cups of major life changes - I’ll be honest, it made for a pretty shitty meal, but I’m in the whole phoenix rising from the ashes bit, so, onward and upward and all that.
Kicking it off this week with Catherine Zeta Jones as Morticia Addams. I haven’t watched the new Addams family based show, Wednesday, yet, but saw these promo shots online and Ms Jones is clearly here to let us know, she came to serve, honey.
The dark lip, the cheekbones, the cleavage, the curves, the effortlessly pulling off a centre part? How very dare she?
Anyhoo, the lewk is enough to make me tune into the show. Kudos, Ms Jones.
Things That Caught My Eye This Week
This article by a woman trying to find a doctor who will remove her IUD left my head spinning. The things we have to deal with as women, medically and otherwise, is insane. I’ve personally never been on birth control so can only imagine the frustration of having to deal with the symptoms that arise being on it, but then the sheer rage of just wanted to get an IUD taken out and not being able to find a doctor who will just do it. I’m unsure if this is a problem specific to the States, but either way, it’s a reminder to never stop advocating for ourselves, especially in medical environments. We know our bodies, damnit.
Food For Thought
That hard thing you’ve been putting off? This is your sign to rip the bandaid off. The tough conversation you need to have, the workout you’ve been dreading, the decision you’re tap dancing around - JUST FRIKKIN’ DO IT ALREADY. Part of what’s making you feel so anxious about it is the fact that you continue to hold onto it. By biting the bullet, you take action, you move things forward. You’re delaying because you know action, means consequences and maybe you’re unsure that you know how to deal with those. There’s only one way to find out babe. Trust yourself more and take the leap. Do the hard thing. Today’s the day.
