Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with Kamala Devi Harris. She gave us hope. She had three months to try to win this election, compared to Trump’s (seemingly lifetime) long campaign. She was held to impossible standards. There is no perfect candidate, but Kamala got handed the baton at the 11th hour and ran for her life (and the lives of women, immigrants etc). The hope, the joy and the promise of what American can be, we all felt that. We saw those rallies and there was a glimmer, which now feels like it was all a fever dream.
Kamala, thank you for trying. We’re grateful for you.
Things that caught my eye this week
This article on how to evaluate menopause content is a must read. The last few years, menopause and perimenopause has become a hot topic (finally! Thank you!), but with that comes a lot of misinformation and bad actors. With such a plethora of info flying around, it’s hard to know what to trust and believe. We can now see it becoming an ‘industry’ right before our eyes, as companies cotton on to how much money can be made targeting this demographic, so we all have to keep our wits about us and know what is up.
Food for thought
You are not going to become the person you want to be instantly. It happens over time. Today, take an action you know your future self would take; go to bed earlier, workout, stop doomscrolling, whatever it may be. Then do it again tomorrow. You rack up enough of those days, and soon enough, you start to notice how it all feels different, things are aligning and smoothing out. Play the long game and keep showing up.

In Monday’s letter I’m talking about what self-care looks like for the over 40s. Sure, bubblebaths, facials and a sweet treat, cool, cool, cool - but at this stage of life, we require more substantial steps that really show we care for ourselves.
