Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with Chelsea Handler’s Netflix special, Revolution, which if you haven’t watched, you absolutely should. I had never really considered myself a huge Chelsea fan, but any time I see her crop up somewhere talking about the joys of being child free or her giving a beautiful take down of misogyny or the patriarchy, the more and more I feel she’s my kinda woman. I absolutely did not expect to snort laugh quite as much as I did watching this. There’s relatable moments, punch-the-air moments, can’t-catch-your-breath-you’re-laughing-so-hard moments. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a viewing.
Things that caught my eye this week
This cost of living crisis is kicking us all in the ass right now. When I’m not at the studio teaching spin, I’m working from home on my life coaching business. Right now, it’s simply not an option financially for me to have the heat on all the time. I’ve been very much rationing it out like I live in ye olden times. So, this article about how to stay warm when working from home, without turning the heating on, was a must-read for me. You may well find some useful tips there too.
Food for Thought
This time of year is weighty with new hope, dreams, resolutions and desire for change. But sometimes the pressure to think you should be full of those sentiments can be disconcerting. Don’t panic. You are right where you need to be. Your mission will present itself when the time is right. If the lightening strike of inspiration doesn’t hit you til June, so be it. Sometimes ambition creeps before it soars. You are right where you need to be.
You should subscribe to the paid edition of The Murmuration because…
On Monday’s paid version of The Murmuration, I’m going to be talking about my relationship with my parents - mainly, why it’s so good. I had someone reach out to me recently - she is raising a young daughter, doesn’t have a great relationship with her own parents and said she really loves the relationship I seem to have with mine. She was asking what they did when I was growing up for us to have this kind of relationship now. So, if you’re raising young ‘uns and want to have a long lasting, solid relationship with them as they get older, subscribe so you can read my musings on Monday.
