Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with the always glorious, Michelle Obama. Why? Because this week she reminded us of an important lesson about boundaries. She opted not to attend the inauguration of the Cheeto in Chief on Monday and offered no explanation as to why.
Thank you for the reminder that a no is a no!
And I mean, it’s not like we don’t all know why. I saw a quote from her that said after the last inauguration of The Orange One, she cried for 30 straight minutes. What it must’ve taken to hold it all together in public after putting so much work in for 8 years in office, only to be expected to smile politely as a vicious racist is sworn in.
I don’t blame her for skipping that ceremony one bit. Let that be a reminder that we don’t have to do things we don’t want to, that we know will upset our spirit and damage our mental health.
Choose peace.
Thank you Mrs Obama.
Things that caught my eye this week
I really love this piece about 100 questions to ask your grandparents. All my grandparents have passed on, but with my parents both in their 70s, I find myself really loving asking them questions about their youth, their lives before they met each other, got married and had kids. They both have such amazing stories. The questions in this piece have given me more inspiration to stay curious and keep asking them about their lives. I’m also on a mission to record some of these conversations somehow - it will be so nice to be able to revisit them.
Food for thought
Staying on the path to achieving your goals requires you to not only make that initial decision to go for something, but to also continually choose that choice. You have to choose it over and over again, through a thousand micro decisions a day. The path to achievement ranges from subtle behavioural changes, to major big swings that move the needle massively. They don’t all come with celebrations or ticker tape parades, but make no mistake; every time you honour your choice, it’s a step in the right direction.

Your weekly Biggie Smalls (p)Update
This week, Biggie would like to remind you that strength training should be a priority as you age. Do not fear the weights section. Grab something heavy and throw it around (safely!). Good for the bones. Biggie likes bones, hence, he is pro-strength training.
Until next week; smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
Michelle!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!! We need to channel our inner Michelle this week. Thank you for that reminder
