Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with the glorious news that WNBA star, Brittney Griner has finally been released from a Russian prison and brought home in a prisoner swap between the USA and Russia. I’ve written about the Griner case on here before, but in a nutshell, she was sentenced to 9 years or having some vape cartridges in her luggage. Just a couple of weeks ago, she’d been transferred to a penal colony where she would’ve had to work 16 hour days or something insane. Her case has stayed on my mind since she was first arrested and I’m thrilled she’ll be able to be home spending the holidays with her family. It’ll likely take years for her to unravel the trauma she’s experienced in the last 10 months. What an insane thing to have gone through.
Things That Caught My Eye This Week
I just learned the term ‘SuperAger’ (someone with a brain as sharp as someone 20-30 years younger) and I think I just found my new life goal. While I’m cool with the ageing process and even kinda excited about it, admittedly, memory loss and that stuff scares me. So this is an interesting read about what qualifies one to be a SuperAger and factors that contribute to that.
Food For Thought
Today, stop catastrophizing. Stop playing out the worst case scenario in your head and theorizing about what could go wrong. Ask yourself ‘what if it goes right?’ What if everything goes to plan? What if it turns out better than you ever expected? What if you trust yourself and feel the fear but take the leap anyway? Who can you be when you allow yourself to believe in your best?
