Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with JLo, pretty much for no other reason than she is my forever crush and I’m not even sorry about it. But also, Bennifer are now officially married. And you know what? God bless ‘em. Here’s to finding, losing, re-discovering and basking in your joy. Here’s to doing it when you’re over 50, to giving critics and bird and just following what gives you peace. Genuinely something I admire about JLo is that through all her relationship ups and downs, she has stayed open to love and that is a really beautiful quality. Now, will I be running back to whoever I was with in 2002? Sweet Mother of Christ, no. No one needs that. But much love to Bennifer, giving us all hope out here.
Things That Caught My Eye This Week
Given it’s the Summer and lots of vacationing and time off is happening, I found this article about how to tackle a mountain of tasks to be a really good reminder, to help avoid the inevitable post-vacay return-to-work freak out and melt down.
Food for Thought
If it unsettles your soul, walk away. You don’t need excuses or justifications, you don’t need to engage in drama. You’re better than that. The peace that comes from simply choosing yourself and giving no fucks is unparalleled. It’s not even that every situation in life must bring you joy, but sometimes other people just vibrate on a different frequency and if that throws you into a space of having to compromise parts of yourself, that is too high a price. Walk away, go find your peace.
You Should Subscribe to the paid version of The Murmuration because…
In Monday’s paid edition of The Murmuration, I’m talking about quitting. More specifically, when do we know it’s time to? It feels scary to quit things at the 35+ age marker, but it’s also when we’re feeling more in tune with ourselves than ever, when we know things may no longer be the right fit or be serving us in the ways we need them to. I keep hearing of women who are making bold, empowering choices at this stage in their lives - walking away from people, places or situations that may well have been a part of their lives for a long ass time. But how do we know when the time is right to do that? Subscribe and let me know your thoughts on Monday!
Your Weekly Biggie Smalls (P)update
This week, Biggie found a stick in the park that was the perfect stick and he was very proud of. So proud, was he, that he carried it around the park with him for 45 minutes. And he would like to remind you that you should do the same with the things you’re proud of - show them off! If you’re lucky, people walking by will tell you what a good boy you are and what a great stick you found, and you too, can feel good things in your soul, like Biggie.
Until next week, smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
