Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with Belgian shot putter, Jolien Boumkwo who was the definition of a team player last weekend at the European Athletic Championships. When both the 100m hurdlers for the Belgian team got injured, someone had to step in and run the race to save the team from relegation. Enter Jolien Boumkwo - a kickass shot putter, with no experience in the hurdles - she stepped in and did what she had to do. Talk about a high pressure situation. I love how joyful she looks in every picture. I’m taking inspiration from that to just be present and enjoy the frikkin’ ride, no matter how out of left field it may seem.
Things that caught my eye this week
I continue to be here for any and all stories of Jennifer Coolidge just slaying the shit out of life and getting her just dues. This GQ article is worth a read and the accompanying pictures where she looks like an ethereal goddess are rather nice to gaze upon.
Food for thought
Even catch a little moment of your internal narrative when you’ve maybe made a mistake at work or something and you’re calling yourself an idiot and saying how stupid you are? Yeah. Yikes. How about we cut that shit out. You wouldn’t speak to a friend like that, are you are your own ultimate bestie, so keep your self talk in check. Give yourself grace, give yourself encouragement, hype yourself the hell up. You’re fly as hell and you’re doing great. Engage in the nice self chit chat. It makes no damn sense to have Mean Girl energy with yourself.
PIVOTTTTTTT!!
I’ve been doing this newsletter for a couple of years now and it feels as though I’ve for sure had my moments of floundering, figuring out what I truly want it to be. I think it’s time for me to let myself lean in to the direction it’s kinda naturally been going in which is personal growth and development. The paid version of the newsletter (which is sent on Mondays) will be long form writing on personal development topics - lots of motivation, inspiration and exploration of themes that’ll keep you fighting the good fight in your own life. To add value to those of you who subscribe to the paid version, I’m also going to add an additional weekly email on Wednesdays, which will be a 1-2 minute audio pep talk. I get such great feedback from so many of you about my Instagram videos, so this is a way for you to get a more exclusive version of that.
Given my coaching work and where I am in my life right now, this feels like a really natural development of the newsletter that I’m super excited about.
I’m really looking forward to building a larger community of likeminded women on here, interested in learning and growing together.
So, if you’ve been receiving this free version of the newsletter and enjoying it, I’d love for this to be the day you take the leap and upgrade to the paid version - I promise I’ll make it worth your while. Come join the crew behind the paywall!
You should upgrade to the paid version of the newsletter because…
On Monday’s paid edition of the newsletter, I’m talking about asking for help, why that’s so damn hard and how our hyper-independence will be the unraveling of us all. Upgrade to paid and join me for the ramblings!
Your Weekly Biggie Smalls (p)Update
This week, Biggie wants to tell you about his favourite bouncy ball. His bouncy ball sparks, as Marie Condo would say, much joy. If ever a visitor comes around, he will bring them his bouncy ball to share in the joy of the ball. He says he hopes you have an equivalent of a joy-bringing bouncy ball in your life that will make your face light up like this.
Until next week; smile at strangers, spread good vibes, be nice to people.
