Happy Thursday, ya beauties!
Kicking it off this week with advice columnist E Jean Carroll, who filed a civil suit against notorious piece of shit, Donald Trump and he has been found guilty of sexually assaulting her. As this was a civil and not criminal trial, the punishment is financial, rather than jail time. But may this be the start of many charges that finally bring this asshole down.
Mad respect for E Jean Carroll - the incident happened 27 years ago. She’s carried this pain for 27 long ass years. It is truly inspiring to see her pursue justice and truth and to see that pay off. I’m sure this was a horrendously difficult course of action for her, but I’m so glad she did it.
Things that caught my eye this week
As I prepare to pick up my life and start over again in a new city (more to come on that), I’m drawn to this piece by Esther Perel about forging new friendships in adulthood. This is something I find myself continually struggling with so I’m always drawn to other insights and perspectives on it.
Food for thought
Stop and celebrate your wins. You don’t have to get to the top of the mountain, immediately scan the view and say ‘when do we climb the next one?’ Take it in. Likely a huge amount of time went into the thing you just achieved. Let yourself swim around in it a little. Allow yourself to bask in the glory. Give yourself the credit you deserve.
