My hair is really having a moment. I seem to have stumbled across the perfect shampoo/conditioner combo and curl-defining products. The curls have never been this bouncy, this un-frizzed, this defined. I’m getting compliments on it everywhere I go - someone literally stopped me in the middle of a cross-walk the other day to tell me how magnificent this cascading river of curls is. Good hair day? Nah, I’m experiencing a prolonged stretch of a good hair life right now and I’m into it.

And to think, that late 90s/early 2000s choke hold of the flat iron had us hiding our curls. I used to lay my waist-length locks on the ironing board while my mother literally ironed my literal hair into razor sharp straightness. To reach a point where I enjoy a light breeze weaving its way through my bouncy curls, well, progress has been made, pals.

But I digress.
