It’s no secret I’m pro-aging. I hate the way women are dismissed and written off once we hit 40. The pressure to stay looking 25 for eternity is just insane, not to mention how this ramped up use of botox and fillers etc may well affect our health down the line.

So, in the spirit of being the change I want to see, I’ve chosen to age naturally. It seems silly for that to even be a ‘stance’, but this is where we find ourselves. I’m not going to dye my hair, get botox, or limit my life in any way as I age. The only way for the tide to turn is for enough of us to show that ageing really doesn’t have to be that scary, right?

I’m vocal about it, using this newsletter and my social platforms to advocate for the awesomeness of the over 40s, but can I be real for a second? I struggle with it myself. I grew up in the super model era, I, too, have absorbed all the toxic messaging aimed at women through advertising and culture. While I can see through it, I’m not immune to it.
