Shout out to all my hyper-independent queens!

Are you all exhausted too?

Whew! I feel ya, sis. We’re doing a lot. Literally, the most. All of it. Always.

Because we were raised to believe we could be and have it all.

Our mothers were the first wave feminists and women’s liberation movement renegades. Lest we forget, it wasn’t until 1960 that The Pill became a thing, 1973 when abortion became legal (and here’s where I throw up a little in my mouth typing that the Supreme Court overturned that decision in 2022). It was 1974 when women were legally granted the right to open their own bank accounts.

My own mother would’ve been between the ages of 13 - 27 when all that was going down.

Understandably, when that generation started having kids, we represented promise. We are their literal hopes and dreams realised. They fought so that the generations of women after them could experience freedom, independence and have the liberty to design the lives we want for ourselves.
