I moved to Montreal on July 1st after living in Halifax, Nova Scotia for 3 years. I found Halifax a difficult place to live. It’s a cliquey kinda town, where people have these life long friendships and they’re not really looking to recruit new people to their circle. It’s a tough nut to crack, especially as a child-free woman in her 40s. There don’t seem to be a whole load of other me’s hanging around there. The result was me spending the majority of my time there feeling lonely, isolated and lacking connection.
So, with this move, I was determined to do everything differently.
I decided, upon arrival, I was just going to say yes to everything.
