I was a certified couch potato for a stretch of a few years in my twenties and I wore that as some weird kinda badge of honour. I’d brag about how I wouldn’t even run for a bus. It was a whole identity for me. Wow, what an un-cute time of life. Seems pretty ironic now, since I’ve made a career in fitness over the last decade. Looking back, I realise so much of that was to do with my mindset. At the time, there wasn’t as much chatter about the links between exercise and mental health. Anyhoo, suffice it to say, getting into regular exercise, taking care of my body and mind has infinitely improved my life.
