In the summer last year, knowing I was starting Studio Bangs and I had a lot of hard graft ahead of me in setting that up, I decided I wanted to do a challenge to get me super focused and in the zone. I settled on 75 Hard. I’d seen others do it and always told myself there’s no way I could. Then I realised that’s a ridiculous thing to say if you’ve never given it a go. So, on September 25th, I dove in.
75 days of:
Two 45 minute workouts a day (one of which has to be outside)
Reading 10 pages of a non-fiction book
Following a healthy diet of your choice
Taking a progress picture every day
Drinking a gallon of water
Once I started, I realised I’m perfectly positioned for a challenge like this because;
I love routine
I don’t have a full time job so am more flexible with my time
I’m single and live alone so only have to work with my own schedule
Now, full disclosure, the guy who behind 75 Hard is a bit of a right wing douchebag and I don’t identify with the very bro-ish nature of the whole thing, not endorse him as a person. But in principle, I get the idea of it. Ultimately, it’s about committing to yourself and sticking to those commitments regardless of inconvenience, time pressures, life stuff etc. 75 Days is both a long time and the perfect amount of time to do something like this.
