I’m turning 43 at the end of this month.

And as I continue to step into what I feel is the most confident, self-assured, no bullshit-taking era of my life, society continues to devalue and denigrate women who are 40+ at every turn.

We are expected to just shut up and fade away at this point. By traditional markers, it feels like society is saying ‘hell, you had your kids and raised them - you’re not young, attractive or fertile anymore, so can you just piss off already?!’
