The process of building a new habit is tough. We always start with the best of intentions, but if your mindset isn’t all the way on board with the plan, it doesn’t take much to throw you all the way off course.
Whether it be eating better, exercising more, or upping your reading game - you know that once this habit takes hold, it’ll improve your life, but it can take a while for it to really latch onto your life.
The reality is, a new habit is a chore. It’s a pain in the ass. It’s the learning of a new behaviour and making space for it in your life. It requires concentration, dedication, a game plan. It takes a lot of energy. It’s little wonder we look for any excuse to back out.
I exercise every day. I’ve been a spin instructor for a decade, so it may be hard to believe that I wasn’t a regular gym goer until about 10 months ago. It took that long for the gym to not feel like a chore and for me to actually enjoy it.
So, what changed? What was the tipping point?
