As ‘therapy speak’ digs its way further and further into popular lexicon, we all collectively have to ensure that it’s not just meaningless language being bandied about - that we’re all making the effort to learn, understand and take appropriate action that aligns with this language where we can.
This has been on my mind most recently in relation to boundaries. Particularly that whole Jonah Hill thing a couple of weeks ago.
We all seem to be familiar with the concept of boundaries, but I think perhaps we’re not always great at the execution of them. And not just in the sense allowing people to frequently trample all over a boundary you may have without consequence, which I’m sure happens often. But more so even just being vocal about what our boundaries are.
